Dr. Peter M. Nthumba FCS(ECSA)

Co-founder & CEO

Dr. Nthumba is the Head and Program Director of Plastic Reconstructive Surgery at the AIC Kijabe Hospital. He is a Clinical Associate Professor, the Department of Plastic Surgery, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He is an expert in Clinical Research, Healthcare guidelines development, Conducting feasibility studies, Medical writing, Project Management, and Grant writing. Dr. Nthumba is a past President of the Surgical Society of Kenya and current chair of the Global Surgery Committee of the SSK. He was awarded the SSK Humanitarian Award in 2022. He is also an international member of ACAPS and participates as faculty in the SHARE Research Club. He is the Research section editor for PRS Global Open and sits on the editorial board of the Annals of African Surgery. Dr. Nthumba is a widely published author with interests in research, trauma, surgical infection, reconstructive surgery, and global surgery. He is a member of the WHO Technical Advisory Group on hand hygiene and IPC. Previously, Dr. Nthumba was a member of The WHO Guidelines Development Group that developed the Hand Hygiene Guidelines published in 2009, and the Global SSI Prevention Guidelines published in 2016. Mrs. Nenkai Michelle NN

Strategic Marketing & Functional Services Manager

Mrs. Michelle is a skilled educator who has taught in Kenyan high schools (English and Kiswahili) as well as in India at the Ida Scudder School in Vellore. She is a linguist who speaks English, Kiswahili, Maasai, French, and Spanish and has taught communication as a part-time lecturer at St. Paul’s University. She has a B.Ed. (Arts) and a master’s degree in literature and is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Nairobi. She is an outstanding health communicator as well as a counselor and life skills trainer. Currently, she serves as Strategic Marketing and Functional Services manager.

Mr. Onesmus Odongo Onyango

Administrative Officer & Company Secretary

Onesmus Onyango is a dedicated and resourceful early-career research professional with a strong passion for epidemiology, international health, and healthcare systems support. Drawing on his career mentors, he appreciates the value of mentorship and draws great satisfaction in nurturing skills.

Onesmus holds a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Moi University, and an Msc in International Health and Tropical Medicine (IHTM) from the University of Oxford. His focus lies in the realm of medical research and health system strengthening initiatives as a commitment to contributing to the well-being of our society. His journey has been shaped by a blend of professional training, active involvement in volunteer programs, clinical nursing practice, participation in conferences and workshops, and diverse roles in the field of clinical research.

In his career as a research scientist, besides clinical practice as a nursing officer, Mr. Onyango has worked as a Research Assistant at Kisumu Medical and Education Trust (KMET) and as a Research Nurse at AIC Kijabe Hospital. Presently, he proudly serves as an Assistant Research Officer at KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Program (KWTRP) Nairobi, where he is actively engaged in advancing our understanding of critical health-related issues. He is skilled in both qualitative and quantitative data management and analysis using NVIVO, STATA, and R statistical software. Mr. Onyango is also experienced in systematic reviews and meta-analyses, strategic proposal development, as well as preparation of manuscripts.

Mr. Stephen Kamau Njuguna

Research Officer

Stephen is a registered nurse, clinical research associate (CRA), and epidemiologist with extensive experience in research ethics, coordinating complex multi-site clinical studies, monitoring clinical trials (including site initiation and close-out), developing research protocols, and expertise in epidemiology and monitoring and evaluation. He is proficient in data management and analysis using NVIVO, STATA, SPSS, and R statistical software. Stephen earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Moi University and pursued specialized training in research administration, project management, and epidemiology. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Research Officer at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme.

Mr. Moses Odhiambo Osoo
Program Coordinator

Mr. Odhiambo is a biostatistician with 6+ years of experience in epidemiological studies, data management, and analysis. He is passionate about medical statistics and is well-versed in R, Python, STATA, and NVIVO, as well as scientific writing for publication. Mr. Odhiambo is enthusiastic about knowledge translation, dissemination, and data-driven decision-making. He is in charge of coordinating and ensuring seamless operation of key administrative processes, as well as engaging with partners and collaborators. He is currently a Clinical Data Analyst and Data Analysis trainer at AIC Kijabe Hospital.

We wish to make clinical research easier, simpler, and more affordable in Africa through a well-established research advisory service, capacity building, and training on health-related research processes. There is no other such organization in Africa.
